PCM Problem???

I have a 1993 Ford Ranger xcab 4x4 4.0 v6. When I turn the key to the on position i do not hear the pump and no check engine light on. I can do this several times then i can hear the pump come on and the check engine light is on and the vehicle will start normal. Any ideas why it does this is it a bad pcm?

Check the EEC relay, it may be failing to switch. You can swap it with the ABS relay to see if that makes a difference.

Maybe bad key cylender? I had an old ranger that wouldnt keep the coil charged unless you held the key forward a little. we had to wire it to a switch

What was the cause of the prob??
