PCV VALVE STUCK!!HELP!!!

I was trying to replace my PCV valve today but it seems really stuck to the rubber hose. I'm not sure if i should use all my force and try to pull it out. Is that the way to do it or should i do it another way? Also, since it is a rubber hose wouldn't it be difficult to put in the new one? How did you guys do it?

Ray, i'm not sure where the hose leads to but doesn't it just run from the air box to the valve cover? Why not replace it along with the new valve? I could be wrong though, what about letting it sit in some wd40 or something like that?
