It's a good idea, but one of the mods on this site once blasted me when I said the word torrent in a post to help somebody out. They don't like using them. Could you post a link for the Mitchell Transmission Manual?

Not yet....my source for it is not a torrent.....Gnutella can be slow....but IRC RoX! LoL. Anyway, ETA on the ENTIRE OnDemand System (which as you know covers way more than just trannies) @ roughly 85 Gigs across 26 DVDs, is some time Friday or Saturday. This will be a rather large release...the largest I've done that wasn't a rainbow table or other huge D-base. Due to it's size, plan on it taking about a year before anyone downloading it can get it within a week....lol.
As for PDF format books, it looks like I'm going to have to get out my Public Library card and get to work with my automatic scanner.....Guess who has several copies of many different Mitchell books? The Lawrence Public Library in Lawrence, Ks...less than a mile down the street from where my brother and I lived when I rebuilt the tranny the first time! LoL. I've seen these books before, and they did not let me take them out of the library....but they WILL send them to another library.....

Oh, and a note...there's nothing in the forum rules against using a program and talking about it. The FUD factor reigns supreme....Torrents and their use are not violative of any laws. In other words, "Chillax". LoL

New Magnet link...this one is for William Husselbee's "Automatic Transmission--Fundamentals and Service," 1986.
This is a MUST-Have text for anyone who wants a good solid understanding of the Automatic Transaxle.

Automatic Transmission--Fundamentals and Service

Incidentally, this is a primary advanced textbook for THIS mechanics' school. Not bad for being 22 years old....

I've noticed on my torrent client that there are a few of you attempting to D/L the .PDFs. Great, but you need to have your client configured correctly for transfer. This isn't a main scene release, so it's not like you can depend upon a swarm of two or three thousand seeders to help you out; you must have your client set up right, and just because it's working a little bit doesn't mean it's working correctly.
The instructions above apply only to Micro-Torrent, but it's worth downloading if you use ANYTHING else. There is not one single BT client I've encountered in nearly ten years that beats it for reliability.

A couple of you are using Free Download Manager to download. This client is BLOCKED via the torrent settings because it disables seeding (which is returning to the swarm an amount of data once your download is complete, so that others find it just as easy to obtain the file as did you) by default, which means in order to be anything but a leecher, you must know to manually go into FDM and enable seeding through it's BT module.

Any questions about the program itself should be addressed here. Any requests should be PM'ed to me.

Here is a current but partial list of tranny manuals I have. PM requests for magnet links:

pm sent on c-4 and c-5 transmissions

The C-4 and C-5 are very much alike, so I've read. There are some differences such as the addition of a TC Lock-up clutch and some VB changes.....I will see what I can come up with....

C-4/5 PDF Manuals Here.

I will try to dig up something a little more inclusive.....There's got to be something better out there than these. Give me a while to do some checking around.

For the record, these are the ATSG C-4/5 manual and a separate parts list for same.

what magnet protocal do i need to use to open this, windows does not recognize this protocol and i don't want to download any thing that has any mal-ware or bugs

No such thing as a separate "Magnet Protocol". Magnet as a protocol, would just be the syntax of a magnet link: magnet:?xt=urn:btih:5LF4DF2QPCONSDN23P6RYNZYTW7KCMPY
You use uTorrent or Azereus or some other program capable of using magnet links. Read from post 17 down of THIS thread.

As for viruses, these are PDF files. There cannot be viruses in PDF files. Further, they are UN-LINKED PDFs, such that they do not reference any outside source (such as the internet) which could potentially be hazardous to the health of your PC.

Besides, these are my releases that I packaged or re-released from other sources, including some which are not on the internet. Which means they can't be Googled. I do not pack malware of any kind in any release. What kind of reputation would I have?

no i'm not saying any thing about you, i'm very glad you are allowing me the the chance to be able to use your pdf files. I'm just saying i can't open them
right now, somethings not working on my end. when i click the link it takes me to another screen and says to use live sreach to find a program to open it, and when i use live screach. It tells me that windows does not recognize this protocol. so i need to find out what is going on at my end so i can try to help the next person

That's what I'm saying: The link here on the site is a magnet link, not a torrent. You can go HERE and download
utorrent_logo.png
so that when you click the magnet link, your Micro-Torrent client opens and begins the process of downloading the PDF. The alternative would be for me to publish a new .torrent and cross-link it here in the forum, rather than simply posting a snippet of code that your torrent client will use to automatically begin the transfer.

Windows doesn't recognize the protocol because there isn't one. There is no extension on the magnet link.....the link is not a file, but because there is a period in the text, windows is deciding to interpret the link as a filename, which would imply there is a protocol for the construction of a file, but the link is not a filename because there is no file, hence no file protocol to even be found, much less recognized.....

Now say that ten times, fast.

thank you i found the link in post 18 on the other post, and downloaded the program and i'm now waiting to see what happens

it is downloading now thank you so very much, i just had to go in to options and connections and make sure every thing was checked and allow it to work
the ports right

there's no way that i can say that 10 times real fast. i have enough trouble just re- learning to type now. after loosing a finger a month and ahalf ago
