Hi, I was wondering if you guys could help me out by telling me what mods that would help out with acceleration. I want to be able to take off fast with no problem. Also I would prefer if you listed products or mods that wouldn't restrict the 4 wheeling capabilities or functions. Thanks.

right with ya man!

well, i'm pretty much where you are at...the beginning! I've done quite a bit of research and here is what I plan on doing: Already have the Superchip (more hp, higher rpm shift setting, no pesky speed governor), plan on getting Borla Cat-Back and a new intake system...haven't decided to get the KKM Tru Rev, the Airaid high flow intake system or the K&N Filter Injection Performance Kit(FIPK)...those are good starters. Some other good ones are performance throttle bodies and throttle body spacers..just to name a few. Also should try Bosch platinum +4 plugs and Splitfire wires.

The chip and a good tune up will do wonders for the Explorer. You'll find I'm sure that just those two mods will allow you to get both the "speed" fix you're looking for on the road, and very positive results off-highwaying. I would highly suggest going with some bosch plugs and Jacobs wires. They help with performance a bit but also give the truck a much better ride than stock Ford wires.

:)

I just installed my Throttle body.. and I love it.. I haul now! Hehe. but Im sure my other mods helped my TB out some... but the big ones I have noticed was the KKM, TB and Jet Chip. Speaking of TB spacers... where can you get them? I havent seen one for the 4.0 yet. Ive THINK I saw them for the v8s though.. any for us v6ers?
