Does anyone else have to take their shoe off when driving because the pedals are so close together?

I guess it doesnt help that I have size 17 shoes, but I just cant drive with my right shoe on, otherwise I hit both pedals at the same time. I get strange looks from people as I get out of my X and put my shoe on and now even in cars where I could drive with shoes on, no problem, I take my right shoe off out of habit. Just wondering if anyone else has a problem like this.

Sometimes if I have to do a panic stop I'll push the accelerator a little bit when hitting the brake hard, I can imagine having size 17 shoes, I only have 10.5-11s.

I have the ame problem now and again, but i drive with my shoes off anyway :c )

i only have 9.5's, but when im wearing my work boots, ill sometimes hit both pedals at the same time.

you could always get those handicap controls that hooks the pedals up to a couple levers that you control by hand ;)

I hit them both sometimes.. same shoe size as Alec..

I am a size 16 EEE in running shoes and 17 in work boots. I don't have any problems. But my feet have been that size since I started driving.

When I where my boots I can't use my left turn signal.

It shouldn't be that hard to cut off 1/3 or 1/2 of the brake pedal to give youself some more room. I agree with you they are a bit too close, I have size 14's. But the only time I have a problem is when I have my snow boots on.

Why not?

Damn, you must be one big guy! Remind me not to piss you off! :D

It would take alot to piss me off enough to drive to Virginia.

I don't know to many grandmas that have a size 17 foot.

I really don't think that its wise to suggest that he drives like a grandma when he wears a size 17 shoe.

Sorta like poking a grizzly bear with a stick to get his attention. :D

my dumb jokes always turned around and make me look like a jackass.lol

redShirt, If you lived in MI you would have already cut some off the brake pedel.
Much too cold to be without shoes now.

I have the same problem. My old truck was a 5 speed, and sometimes when I shifted gears I would turn the right turn signal on. When I wear my hunting boots I have to take them off no-matter what I drive.

my knee gets in the way

Yea I have that problem all the time, I think my Ex is too small if you have on a jacket etc. It really pisses me off using the left blinker though, always in the way.

I also had alot of problems this hunting season while wearing my boots and hitting both pedals at the same time.

When I first got my X I noticed that the petals seems different than most cars. Since then I've gotten used to it.

I would like to see that though, I'd prolly laugh at you too :D

Pedals too close..

This problem only occurs in USA, : :D my o my... in my comparison its an ocean betveen the pedals in my X, i've driven it without problems in my Snowboard boots, and theese boots are wide, even in sice 12.
If it were an 5shift Alfa romeo then i would understand you, then there are three pedals in the amount of space of a little more than the brake pedal of my X:rolleyes: but then again i'v driven my 5shift Alfa with an cast left foot so...maybe i dont realise the problem :D
