Ok I have to get new tires. My front left is almost toast. They don't have the BFG's in stock but have the Procomp. I can get the BFGs from some place else for $180 a piece. That sounds high. Procomp Muds are $825 for 5 tires and the Xterrians are $929 for 5. The BFG K/M's were $795. What tire do you guys recommend for 33x12.5xr15. I'm getting them tommorrow so any feed back would be great. Also I will be selling the old tires. The spare is brand new, never used.

I have general grabber MT's and i love them and they are very resonable on price and just over 600 for 5 :D

My friend has Laredo M/T's and he likes them alot, he has about 20,000 miles and they still look new. I believe they are in $125/piece range.

Cool, keep the info coming.

Thanks!

I dig my 33" BFG Mud's...

TwoToneX: How do they sound on the road and how are they wearing? Do you know much about Procomp, I know nothing except what's in the mags.

They wear ok, but like any other mudder, you have to keep them aligned really well or the road will eat 'em up. They've got a hum to them at about 25 mph, and again above 60....but nothing too bad. I usually can't hear it over my exhaust/stereo...

Unfortunately, I don't know anything about Pro-comp's either...but I do know that Tom (Fakrwee) is running 35's, might wanna try sending him a PM and I'm sure he'd be glad to help...very nice guy...

i run 35" uniroyal laredo MT's and i love em.... 120 a peice for 35's so 31's are proley less.

I have Goodyear MT/Rs (285/75 16, same as 33) I paid $150 ea at discount tire. BFG makes a tire for Discount Tire called the Mud King. Same tread and it is like $120 - 130. Only difference is that it doesn't have a reinforced side wall like these others do. So if you just play in sand, dirt and mud it is a great tire!

Thanks guys for all your replies. I'm going with the Pro comp Xterrians. Four Wheeler mag gave them good reviews and the shop says that BFG is out of tires???? They can't get any for a few weeks. So 33x12.5x15 Procomp Xterrians it is. Costing a total of $929. Does that sound like a good price?

A tire company the size of BFG out of tires? More like his supplier is slow.

That's what I figured I couldn't imagine BFG running out of tires! So $929 a good price?

4 wheel parts has the 33" X-terrain at $167 a piece. Thats $835 for 5. Of course that doesn't include mounting, balancing, tax, etc. and I'm not sure what is included in your price of $929

As for the X-terrains, remember that they are somewhat directional. Also Pro-comps in general, although comparable to the BFG on-road, do not perform as well off-road from what I've heard.

Jefe, yes that includes everthing mounting, balancing, disposal, tax etc. and free balancing/rotation.

In that case it sounds good.

Note that I edited my last post giving my opinion of pro-comps

I forgot they were directional tires. So what the hell should I do about a spare? I'm sure not gonna buy two spares. So what to do???

Buy a spare that's not directional

I talked to the tire shop. He said you can drive on them but just not for thousands of miles.

How about if I keep my spare 32x11.5 and use that to gimp me out or to a gas station and not spend the money on another tire. If I shread a Procomp tire and I don't have the correct direction than I will be buying whole new tire.

TwoToneX: If I get another 33 spare and shread a procomp I will be in the same situation as above. (Having to buy another tire). Because I couldn't rotate the odd ball in. Or Could I??????? Any input.

Not sure. I figure it won't hurt if you just need to gimp on a non-directional spare until you can get somewhere to get the pro-comp fixed or get a new one... Maybe try talking to someone who has those tires and see what they do. I think FMExplorer has them...

Just get the ProComp muds instead. They'll last a little longer, fide a little better on the street, and still perform well offroad. And you'll save a few bucks!
Just my .02.:)
