Performance Chips off ebay

I have tried several of those chips and done a lot of research on them and the only one on eBay that seems to work is the one sold by Volo Performance Inc. for about $80. I installed one on my "99 F250 LD 5.4L V8 and with regular gas the difference was small but when I went to premium gas the performance jumped.
I am now in the process of installing a VOLO chip on my '07 Explorer 4.6L V8 but this time I am useing their gas mileage chip, don't like the 14mpg I am getting stock. Will post an update when I get some data.

Do you need to use premium gas with the gas mileage chip?

The instruction do not say to use premium with the mileage chip, only the performance chip. But you do not have to use premium with the performance chip if you do not need max power. Like I said...I got a mild boost with regular gas and a big boost with premium.
