Performance issues after mishap

I've got a 2001 4.0L 2door V6 as stated in my signature area. My EGR Pressure Sensor literally blew up on me about a month ago, and when it went, it took out the two hoses attached to it. I took the time to replace it and the hoses but my motor hasnt been running right ever since, the truck feels very sluggish. ANy suggestions? I also need to recalibrate my speedometer and where do i find the speed limiter? this stopping at 100 thing is killin me

Is it throwing any codes? The speed limiter can be removed with a tune using a programmer. Recalibrating the speedo can also be done with a tune. Try contact Henson Performance on here.. His screen name is jah81592 http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/member.php?u=38028

It isnt throwing any codes except for the 1000 code which is the computer, but its always thrown that one out

P1000 OBD-II Monitor Testing Incomplete

According to the 2001 Ford OBD-II System Summary diagnostic testing is suspended if the remaining fuel is less than 15%. Do you have a problem with your fuel gauge?

My speed limiter was originally set to about 104 mph. I had it removed as part of my custom tune so it wouldn't be a problem when performing dyno testing. Are your tires rated for speeds above 104 mph? If not, then maybe the limit is keeping you from killing yourself and others instead of the opposite. With a 3 inch drop, a small bump could really throw you off course at high speed.

My fuel gauge is odd now that I think of it, it gives me odd readings at times, such as if I'm on a hill, depending on which way I am facing, it will tell me I either have less fuel than I really do or more fuel that I do.....I don't have that issue with my TL or my dads truck.......

My tires are z rated and my 3in drop isn't the cheap drop that most people do, I have a performance setup on my suspension so hitting a bump isn't an issue, the truck takes bumps the way a performance car does. Second, I race all the time, mainly at tracks, and practice stunt driving, technical driving, and precision driving......speeds not an issue, I just need the retarded limiter taken off, the tuner I have was a freaking rip off, wish I could return it.

which tuner do you have?

any of the good ones will adjust your speed limiter and your speedo

oh definatley, hands down piece of crap.

research is your friend... you should throw that thing in the first trash can you can find..and get a real tuning solution such as sct xcal2.

Yeah, lol........I will research that tuner, I ignored because folks had told me it sucked but I want it now so I will try and get it

The Xcal2 is out of production, the only ones you will find are used.
be careful getting a used device, they are often locked to the previous vehicle.

Also you will have to find an SCT dealer that still wants to tune and X2.
most want to sell you an X3 because they cant get an X2 anymore from SCT

Make sure your preferred SCT dealer will still support the X2, many do not.

IMHO, if your tuning a ford obd2 vehicle, there is no better solution than the SCT advantage ProRacer software coupled with either an Xcalibrator 2 or Xcalibrator 3.

hands down.

Especially if your dealing with a ford vehicle with an automatic trans.
