Performance muffler for 99 Mounty?

I have to replace the exhaust system on my '99 Mounty. 5.0. I found a reasonably priced, direct replacement full exhaust from Rockauto, but I can't seem to find any direct fit muffler choices for a slightly more aggressive than stock sound. I don't want to remove the cats or anything other than a more aggressive muffler.

Does anyone have any info/suggestions? Is it even worth the hassle?

I’d take it to an independent shop and ask for a quote. Usually they can fit universal mufflers on it that aren’t a direct bolt on replacement. Worth it is going to be up to you to decide. A muffler isn’t going to make a noticeable difference in power, it’s just going to make it sound different.

I actually have a Gibson Cat Back system.

Slight Rumble but nothing annoying.

Minor fitment issue with tail pipe hanger and a really close fit around the spring assist rear shocks.
