hey guys... i'm experiencing Dead Link Removed with my 97 sohc... so i and went ahead this evening and put a vacuum gauge on the engine...

problem tho - none of the books i have mention EXACTLY where to get the vacuum readings from...

so i just spliced into the line going to the top of the brake booster (see pic)...

is this an ok location to test vacuum?... or is there another?

fwiw, all the readings came within the acceptable ranges... so it doesn't look like Dead Link Removed is vacuum related (i.e., o-rings rel'td)...

i'm still trying to fix the problem - so ANY advice, personal experience, or comments are welcome...:banghead:

many thanks...

Yes, it looks like a good place to get intake manifold vacuum. While testing vacuum is a good basic test further testing might be needed to find your problem.
