Perimeter alarm system?

I have an XLT and finally tested for an entry alarm and found out it does have an entry alarm. I may add perimeter down the road

There is no blinking light or any other indication that the vehicle is locked and armed. Not until you try to break into it.

I verified mine by rolling the driver's window down and then locking the vehicle. I believe it takes about 20-30 seconds to arm the alarm. Wait and then reach in and open the door. A beeping alarm sounds for a while and a message on the display says to start the vehicle to stop the alarm. If this is not done, soon the horn starts beeping. I can tell you it is quite loud in a closed garage! I did the same with the rear door. The only thing is that you have to physically pull the lock button up before you can open the door. No beeping this time, the horn goes off immediately.
When trying this, make sure your keyfob is out of range, 4-5 feet, but make sure you can get to it quickly to stop the horn. I just hit the 'Unlock' button to do that.

the alarm is listed in the vehicle specs on the Ford website, I am pretty sure I seen an engine bay switch last time I had the hood up, so the engine bay may be protected as well, unless the switch is used for some other purpose.
