I'm new to this fourm I have a limited on order and was looking over my window sticker and noticed it list a perimeter alarm under safety/security. What is this and how does it work I cannot find any info in 3 printing owner man on line.
It seems to be included in price was not an option pick . Does this arm off the remote or auto alarm when truck locks.

•Perimeter anti-theft alarm system
• Guards the vehicle’s doors, hood and trunk/lift gate. When an unauthorized entry occurs, the system trigger sand will:– Flash the head lamps, parking lamps and theft-indicator lamp on the instrument panel
•Sound the horn. Note: It will not be triggered by breaking glass or entry into the vehicle through a window. The perimeter anti-theft alarm system is designed to work with the factory-installed Remote Keyless Entry System.SecuriLock® passive anti-theft ignition system
• Uses a sophisticated electronically coded ignition key to start the vehicle. The system is designed to help prevent the engine from being started unless a coded key programmed to the vehicle is used. There is no battery on the key itself; the small amount of energy required to identify the key is supplied by the vehicle
•SecuriLock is designed so that it is not necessary for the driver to follow any procedure to arm the system. It is automatically armed when the key is removed from the ignition and is disarmed when the key is reinserted into the ignition
•Spare keys will be available from dealerships. Customers can program their keys by using each original (2) key in the proper sequence and finally inserting a new key for programming (see Owner’s Guide for more details)
•There are billions of possible codes

I believe it is basically the same as the Anti Theft Alarm that is described in the Owner's Guide. With the keyless entry, and possibly the keyed system, when you approach the vehicle at night, the parking, puddle and interior lights come on.

I will recommend you to put an aftermarket alarm or the ALP-100 that will complement the factory passive alarm.

In my case they broked the little rear door window and pulled the lock and that was all to get access to the interior of the truck. No sound of the passive alarm becuase it will not trigger if they unlock any door. Actually the rear little door window will not even sound becuase of the tint that it has from factory. Just hit it and it will crack.

If you did not get an alarm when they opened the door than you have a faulty system. I can confirm that if the vehicle is locked and someone without the key nearby unlocks the door and opens it, the alarm will activate as described in the Owner's Guide. I verified this by lowering the rear window about halfway than locking the vehicle. I waited about a minute, then reached in and pulled the lock pin up. So far so good. Then when I opened the rear door, all hell broke lose (horn blaring, lights flashing) as I scrambled to recover my fob which was about 6 feet away.

Sorry Peter but i forgot to say that the drivers door lock was pulled first with a screwdriver or something like that and that made the alarm to desactivate and then they broke the window. I have to say that it happend in 10 minutes and i was around 50 feet from the truck. That is why i guarantee that it didn't sound.

I put now the ALP-100 alarm and use the same factory beeper.

This was confirmed by the alarm dealer.

It doesn't matter if it is the front or back doors that are opened. If the key/fob isn't within range, you will get the same alarms. When you open the front door, a count down alarm (beeps) is heard during which time you have 12 seconds to disarm the alarm using the fob or ignition or the horn will sound and lights will flash.
I have verified both methods.

Peter maybe i didn't explain myself. The driver side door key lock was knocked down with a screwdriver. That automatically will disable the alarm becuase the alarm understand that the key was inserted and will also separate the door lock mechanism that is plastic by the way. At least this was confirmed by the alarm technician and also with the Ford Service Parts employee. Then they broked the window and got in without and alarm sound.

By the way the Ford Employee guy said that mine wasn't the only one that he had to order parts with the same method.

For the knoledge of everybody what i did was that i installed an additional alarm that includes more things and eliminated the lock and put a blind cover so no key type. And put a cable with a fuse in a location just in case i get without battey i can jump it thru that cable and use the keypad to gain acces to the truck.

That will not disable the alarm. What triggers the alarm is a door opening without the keyfob being in range. Even if you open the driver's door with a key, the alarm is still active and will go off in 12 seconds unless disbled by the fob or starting the vehicle.
The is from the Owner's Guide;

Note: If the driver’s door is unlocked with a key, a chime will sound
when you open the door and the message center will display TO STOP
ALARM START VEHICLE. When this occurs, you will have 12 seconds
to disarm the alarm using any of the actions above, otherwise the alarm
will trigger.

Can you provide more info on the ALP-100?

Ok Peter... i just described what happened to me and for sure the alarm wasn't triggered and i was at 50 feet from the truck. Anyhow i installed a new one becuase seems to me and to the Ford technician that they knowed the trick to desactivate the factory alarm. Those were their words but thanks for the support.
