I'm told hopefully within a month or two... I can't wait to get em on my vehicle, since the ones I've got on my F-150 now are starting to squeal and the ones on my Explorer, well, they've always been pieces of crap :). I'll let ya know.

Hey Matt,
Please do keep us informed on these, as I need to get mine changed pretty soon and was also hoping that they would be coming out fairly soon.

Ray, I'll let you know. I just emailed PIAA to see if they had any idea when they'd be available, I'll let you know as soon as I know.

Matt, thanks a bunch. My Anco's are from before winter and pretty beat up...

So, what are the estimated price for these blades going to be? Any word? I think all four of our vehicles coudl use some new ones...

How do you remove the rear wiper? I found a little slide tab on it and pulled over, but the arm wouldn't release. I stripped and recoated and clearcoated my front arms last year, and the back one is next.

ok they are supposedly going to not have inventory of the black wiper blades until about mid-late July. They will have the carbon fiber ones (if anyone likes that look) probably a few weeks thereafter.

I have no idea how much they'll cost but I can guarantee they'll be more expensive then your standard wiper... though like with all things, you'll get what you paid for.

I'm not sure where they are planning on selling these units... my guess would be anywhere that you can buy PIAA lights you'll be able ot buy PIAA wipers.

::cough cough group purchase on wipers? cough:: Heh heh

Does anyone have any knowledge about these blades? Anything new?

yeah sure, I'll do a group purchase once th ey come out! (these should be much easier to ship then big ass lights, plus everyone needs wiper blades LOL)
Aldive, I don't know everything about these wipers since they haven't sent me any published information on them yet. They showed them at the SEMA show and from what I have heard either from PIAA or from other people that saw the exhibit, is they are a silicon blade that are coated so supposedly every time you use them they act kinda like rain-x with that coating they have... There also supposed to last much longer then the stock wipers. I'm not sure of what sizes they come in yet so I don't know if they will have replacement wiper blades for the rear wiper, I'm guessing they won't. I know they'll have the blades for the Explorer old and new because that has been confirmed for me.

Gosh I can see it now, Matt'll have 2 blades up front for the winshield sure, but being PIAA that wont be enough....there will have to be at least one blade on every one of the other windows on BOTH of his vehicles....

naw then I'd have to buy more motors... AND more switches... I aint got no room for no more switches! LOL

Nope Grant, you're mistaken:

Matt is going to get the double blade holders and is going to have 4 blades for the front windshield, maybe 6 if he can figure out how to suspend another double wiper from the top center :)

are you saying I overdo things? :) LOL
There wouldn't be one damn drop of moisutre on my windshield you can be assured of that!

I have real trouble finding a rear wiper to fit back there, most are too thick to slide off the glass when off. What brand did you use Gimp?

The reason that I had all three of my old arms bead blasted and then powder coated instead of buying new ones

What did that cost you, Gimp?

Thanks....

wipe

Tridon already makes blades with teflon in em..my guess is the PIAAs will be similar. Bosch's Micro Edge Excel is a good high performance blade too. Not saying the PIAA blade cant be better but wonder what the specs are. Usually what seperated the good from the bad is the wiper body construction and how easily the squegee can be replaced. Only other thing I can think of is it could be available in the larger sizes for modified single-wiper cars and those exotic car sizes...

yeah, thats why I'm hoping to get some shortly and start testin em out so I can see what kinds of advantages/disadvantages they have.

Powder coating is definatly neat stuff.

We are building a new custom swim platform for the boat and it will be powdercoated.

Thanks. Gimp.
