PIAA's w/Optima battery

Ok I just installed my PIAA 580 driveing lights on my Explorer and when running the 2 head lights, 2 fog lights and then the 2 Driveing light I nitice aslite AMPIGE drop.
And I have a 1,500 watt amp that I will be installing in about 2-3 mounts so I'm going to need alot of power from by BATTERY at night.
Will getting a Optima battery solve this problem?
If so which one should I get for a 97 XLT, 4.0 SOHC.
YELLOW TOP, RED TOP?
DEEP CYLE or not?
And if you know any good went site with really good prices feel free to post them to.

the yellow top will slove the problem you have right now but it might not keep up when you throw in that 1500 what amp. When you do that i might also consider putting in a 130amp alternator if yuo don't already have one.

but get the yellow top its a great battery!!! :)
not sure if they have the "best price" but thezeb.com has them for 175 plus a fixed 7 shipping. not too bad
 






i believe the 2nd gen x came with 130 amp alternaotrs, you should upgrade to a 200amp one.
 






why would the battery have to be good at night? unless you plan on running hte system 24/7 when its off....... the amps should have a remote turn on wired to them so they are only on with the ignition switch..... if there is too much drop in power while the car is running, then it is an alternator problem, not battery..... upgrade to a higher amperage rated alternator......

I will be needing alot of power from my battery at night becaust I dont use my light (head lights, fog lights, PIAA driveing lights) during the day.
Ans yes amps do have remote turn ons.
 






You don't need a new battery.
You need a bigger alternator.
The battery is only used to turn the starter motor and run things when the engine is off.
 






I had a red-top battery in my explorer for years with no problems, and it was pushing like 15 PIAA's with an amp, sub, etc. with no problems.
I have the stock battery in my F-150, its 80,000 miles old and I'm pushing 13 PIAA's, some that I use often, some I dont, plus some stereo equipment (well was running it before I removed it).
So any battery should do, LOL.
 






Yeah, I agree. I've had a red top in mine for years running my stereo, amp, 2 pairs of PIAA's, headlights, and ham radio.

Heck, I've even charged my laptop through an inverter and powered my heated motorcycle vest (it was a very cold morning) while running all the above except the ham and never noticed anything appreciable.

Was the power drop a quick flicker or was it steady?
