I have just barely touched on the numerous trail runs from this summer. But as you can see we have quite a variety in trail types up here. But most all of them include mud as you can see.

Here is a link to a local board with links to numerous trail runs. http://www.wheelingadventures.com/Northern4x4/ikonboard.cgi?;act=SF;f=10

So what do you guys think of the wheeling up here in Southern Alaska??

Looks like a lot of time riding behind a winch. Someday I hope to visit my uncle in Smithers, BC. I know there's some kickin' trails there.

GREAT THREAD!!!

What's the story on those buggies? What did they start life as, a pickup, or some kinda industrial vehicle?

Props to the guy in the ZJ with most of the body removed!

Now that's a good question I will get back to you on it. I see them all the time but can't even begin to tell you how they start life. I have seen a few that are chevy's and ford's. These have undergone some radical body work.

The guy in the ZJ rolled it in May while accidently going n reverse while in an off camber situation. So he cut off the body and caged it. He's a bit too intense for me and is the originator of the local message boards Fawko Tossing. He is always saying that he is going to catapult some idiot for what they say. In reality no matter how big of jerks they are they will come to anyones aid on the trails even driving 50 miles for recovery and break down assistance.

I have another thread exclusively for these buggies check it out. Alaskan Buggies

Oh heck no! They all needed help getting out. And that one orange truck with the exterior cage is seriously built. Twin sticked dual t-cases, I was shocked to see it stuck like that.

AWSOME PICS, thanx for sharing!

I can't believe that I forgot to post the Cruiser runs

A one week adventure that is a blast.

check out the 2002 cruiser run with all its pics. These guys can't go on a trail without getting a vehicle turned on its side.

2002 Cruiser Run

Trail lists and pictures also. FYI all these trials are within 45 minutes of my house:D :D :D

Great pics and thread!

Very cool thread! Excellent pics!!!

I swear I've seen Rasta Man in a 4x4 mag in an article about wheeling in Alaska.

Excellent:D Makes me long for a trip to Alaska all the more. I'll see you up there one of these days!

Well I will keep these coming since we run year round and the winter pics are unbelievable. Maybe soon there will be an all Explorer run that I can post pics of. I have been working on getting a bunch of us up here together for a run. Probably happen in the spring though, that way a few from Fairbanks can come down.

I do have some pics of a mini run with my buddies Explorer I just have to get the pics developed and put on disc.

Well it looks like we are going to be running one of Alaska toughest trails this weekend. I've never been up it so I am going to ride along with someone else and take action shots. I'll take my digital camera so I can get pics up immediately. If you don't hear back from me after this weekend then I probably joined the "ROLL OVER POSSE" and I'm still down in some canyon bottom.:D
