Here are a couple of pictures I took real quickly just now! I have been out working on the exploder all day so I was ready to get in and shower. Oh yea my dog (Vespa) snuck in the picture. She is in front of the tire so I didnt even notice her.

I like It!

Awsome job! Good looking and clean.

Looks great. Everytime I see your truck I love it more and more, I'm sure you have the same feeling.

Steve

Hey Brian, you have a 3" body lift, right? YOu also had it installed by a shop as well, didn't you? The reason why I ask is because I want to know how they (or you) gt the bumpers looking good? I can't seem to get my rear bumper lifted up. Do you think you could snap a pic of what they did back on the back bumper and send it to me? If they did any welding cutting or fabricating, show me what they did. Also, any pics of what they did to the mounting spots. If you don't mind doing that for me, I would appreciate it, thanks.

Hope this helps rock. The bracket has to be flattened and you need to drill some new holes into the frame rail. There also needs to be a weld on the top black bracket which was done after this pic was taken. There is an extra weld on the inside of the frame rail and bracket as well. The rest of the bracket below the frame rail gets cut off.

Hey all thanks for the replies. 2001 is right. Mine was a little easier, I just had to notch my rear bumper I will take a picture of it.

Brian It just keeps looking bettter and better now all you need to do is a 4X4 conversion.

Looks good, Can't wait to see what's next.

that looks really good, heh, what kinda dog is that in front of the truck? a great dane? ;) it looks tiny in comparison

Thanks 2001ExpSport & Brian. You don't need to post it up here, you can just e-mail it to me so you don't have to upload it onto the web and all, that is unless you want to put it up here, then that'll be fine. Thanks a lot

Thats funny! Actually that is a Doberman Pincher (****er spaniel) :) Thanks for the compliments guys. As always, MORE to come.

expsprt2001 ---- what kind of saw did you use to trim the bottom of the bumper bracket off. also why did they put that extra on there if you dont need it or is it for multiple aplications???

They just make a general type bracket and use them for different vehicles. That's what one tech guy told me. They have just recently been including them in the kits, they used to be extra $$. Well, they still are, but the kit price has just gone up and you don't have to hassle with ordering them.

Anyway, I used a Craftsman Reciprocating Saw aka Sawzall. I bought mine about 6 yrs ago and it still works like a charm and I cut all kinds of stuff with it. It truely is a man's best friend. You're in luck because I just happen to have taken a picture of it. Dead Link Removed

That blue bolt is from the back body mount.

So do you think all I would need to do is put the bracket on and cut the bumper a bit? My friend is good at metal working and cutting/welding with a torch, and he may be able to help me make new bumper lift brackets. Its hard to explain what I want, but it will be made out of the same thickness of the original bumper's brackets, so it will be as strong as the stock mounting because the brackets they sent me bend very easily and I just want a little more protection in the back than what those little 1/4" or 1/8" brackets would give. But if he isn't willing to help me out, I can deal with those little brackets, and I also have a Craftsman reciprocating saw. When you cut it, it doesn't show much of the frame does it?

Safari Rack

Is that a Surco Safari Rack with tire mount on top? If so...I have one sitting at the 4x4 shop waiting for me to put it on...I also have the accessory mount (ie shovel etc.)
My Warn trans4mer winch mount and lighting is also sitting there waiting for installation...just gotta get the time..

I plan on installing my two sets of lights on the rack that will be hooked up to a 6 switch circuit breaker system (as opposed to a fuse set up..) looks good Brian...

Yes I do have plans for all the mounts on the rack. i already have the light mounts up there just dont have the money for the lights yet. Explorer, yes it is the Surco rack. They look great on the truck and was one of the cheaper racks I could find. Great deal. Why havent you put yours on yet? I am one of those whom cant wait to add my stuff on my exploder. :)

hhmm well leesee

lack of time....I had a flood in my finished basement..I slid down an emabankment...dealing with insurance companies is a pain in the ass..I started a new job and need to get alot of mandatory things (federal and state stuff) out of the way as well as trying to get acclimated to the new position...I still owe the shop a measily $100 and the mortgage is past due...single parent...tax stuff...unfortunately the truck has become about 5th on my list right now...but thats ok it's not going anywhere right now...I am thinking that the shop will probably let me go the $100 anyway because they are using mine as a display and have sold at least 5 of them since it has been there..

trckmagik-I'm with you on that one. I can't wait to put stuff on my truck either. I am like a little kid at christmas everytime a package shows up. I open it and start tinkering with all the cool neato parts!!

Moneys is an object right now so the add ons have stopped for now. Most of my money went for school. In a few months I'll be back on the ball. I want one of those Surco racks, but they haven't made brackets for the '01 yet. I'll have to call them again to see what's up with that.
