I dont know what shackles are, could someone explain or put up a pic?

They are the thingies that attach the rear of your leaf spring to the frame, behind the back bumper. We use longer ones like section's pic to raise the back end higher.

Or it could be a D shaped loop with a bolt through it to attach a chain or tow strap.
