2002 Ford explorer sport.
So my ford was leaking fluid heavily out of rear passenger side. Notice diff breather was heavily blocked.. Fixed the seals on both sides and while under there i noticed the pinion seal had a leak...OK FIX IT

got it all off & new seal in; problem is there is a plastic thing on the back side of the flanged that seems attached to it?? in any case it looks like no matter what i do I can not get that piece to flush up against the new seal there is a gap 1/16. SO THE NEXT issue! my drunk neighbor while trying to flush up the two pieces managed to strip the nut so now i can barely get it on without it getting really tight  IS the both pieces supposed to fit flush?

DEALERS are closed and need my truck. What other vehicles at a junk yard can i look for? I cant find a 2002 Explorer anywhere! its limited slip 8.8 gear

PLEASE HELP :)

Doug
