Pioneer 3-way or 4-way?

I am thinking of getting some new speakers for my Ex. as i have blown out one of my stock speakers already. I was looking into Pioneers and wanted to know what the difference would be between the 3-ways and the 4-ways. Out of those which would be better for the front? What would be best for the rear? Thanks for any help you guys can give me.

I would recommend 3 way in the front and 2 way in the rear.

I have four of the pioneer 4-ways in my X.

they are great.

look on ebay, i got mine brand new for $54 a pair! thats 1/2 price!

the 4 way has the supertweeter and heavier magnents on the woofers, not much it's like 22 oz's vs. 17 on the 3 ways. they sound very similar in the store but if you're not going to amp them just get the 3 ways because you won't notice a difference

i listened to them in the store, and i liked the 3 ways better. the fours ways sounded to tinny to me, the highs were too pronounced, it didnt sound like a balance to me, so obviously i chose the 3 ways. if i were you go to best buy and listen to them and find out which ones u like better

I would say go with 3 ways. The highs get very loud on 4 ways when amped.

They are installed and are nice upgrade un amped. They wont be that way much longer as the system from my Supra is going to be transplanted.

I have had a few brands and personally like the sound of Pioneer over some of the other brands. ie Blaukpunt,sony, audiobahn, clarion, kenwood etc.
