Well this is a common problem so stay calm...lol What you have to do is beat it on the sides of the arm really hard with the puller still attached and keep tightening it as it loosens up and eventualy it will just pop off.

I'm just ahead of this problem.... I can't get the nut on the pitman arm off..... I have even purchesed a 1 5/16 socket and it's too big.... 1 1/4 is too small..... 32mm is too small..... WTF???

what size socket did you use to get this socker off?

BTW - I wouldn't heat this nut at all if I were you... you can fry the seals in the sterring box.

I had a small leak in my power steering line that kept my nut very lubricated. Mine popped off with an adjustable wrench.

Have to get a puller now.

I need to know what size socket I need.....
HELP!

well mine is off I ended up cutting through it. either way it is off now thanks for the help hvac man. Dre the nut was 1-5/16 on mine I would imagine it is the same on yours. I was able to lossen it with an adjustable wrech as well though.(couldn't find my socket when I was taking it off)

I bought a 1 5/16 socket but it's too big... 1 1/4 is too small... I guess, I'll try the adjustable wrench then.
Thanks,
