I have bought two different pitman arm pullers and neither one will fit to get the pitman arm off. I bought an Ampro from advanced and ordered one from Astro Pneumatic Tool Company. The opening on the Ampro is too small and the Astro is too long and hits the frame crossmember. Where can i get one that will fit a 91-94 explorer?
Thanks,
Nick Good
This is the one ( the link above ) i used when removing my stock pitman arm, it was practically effortless with this tool. I too tried the others but they failed to work. I had no trouble getting it in there but i had the axles right off the truck when i did it. If you have already tried this one then ignore this post but this has worked great for me, thought i would share.
Thanks for the info. I just ordered the one that you recomended -----OTC 7311A Pitman Arm Puller (Passenger Cars and Light Trucks to 3/4 ton)
Item: 58600433
Ill give this one a try when it comes in. It should work, and i also have the axle off the vehicle now.
Thanks,
Nick Good
