I'm planning to remove the tranny on a 95 EX and take it to a shop for rebuild. No lift but will four Rhino ramps be high (6") enough for the tranny to roll out from under the truck? I also just picked up a Harbor Freight 89.99 450lb capacity tranny sissor jack. I've already printed out the removal tranny sticky and ready to tackle it Monday morning. If anyone has better suggestions/ inputs or advice will be deeply appreciated.

I think it will be tough to be able to roll it out from under the truck. You can always take it off the jack once it is down closer to the ground, move it off onto some wood and drag it out. I took my trans and t-case out as one unit by dragging it out on the floor, haha

Those jacks are money though. I used one at a friends place once and it worked very well. I wish I had one when I was pulling the trans in my X.

I hear ya, as long as you get the job done that's the main thing. How hard was it to install the tranny back in without the lift?

Well, either I somehow got the transmission back on the jack while it was under the truck or I lifted the front of the truck up as high as I could with a floor jack so I could roll it under on a trans jack. Then I lowered it back down. I honestly can't remember what I did. It was a few years ago.

The top bolt on the starter is the hardest part.

Spent the time and take the exhaust Y-pipe off. I didn't and while it was easy to get the tranny down it was a pain in the ass getting it back up. That was with a lift too.
