I did the headers myself on my 97 back in october.

(1)Get some wd-40 or something like that to help free the bolts.
(2)Take your time and don't cut corners.
(3)I think it is a lot easier to get at the bolts by removing the wheel and the inside of the fender. I think you will agree.
(4)When installing the headers. Connect the y-pipe to the cat first.(dont torque down, but connect them together) Then connect the headers to the y-pipe.
(5)Remember to use some anti-seize. So if for any reason you have to take them off again it will be easy.

You souldn't have to drill anything if you don't break any bolt's in the head. If that happens their are some procedures you can follow but we will hope you don't need them so we will not get into it.

You might end up cutting part of the y-pipe but that is up to you. I say this because I got sick of trying to remove the y-pipe from the headers so I just cut it. Made it a lot easier. But does turn them into garbage. So if you plan on using them for something else dont cut it.

FOLLOW DIRECTIONS!!!-they are in an order for a reason.

I hope I said every thing I ment to. If I think of something else I will post it.

Actually i havent got the engine back yet, i told the guys at the shop i wanted them to put different headers on, and they told me it would be extra, so screw them. How long do you think till i have a problem? i wont get them till i pay this 3 grand bill off.

Also, I would recommend buying a small butane torch (~$5 from Harbor Freight) and apply heat to the bolt heads before removing them. I had two bolts that were threatening to break off before I tried the torch.

Good luck...

Ok, well get this guys, i blew my head gaskets about 2 weeks ago, so i decided to go ahead and have the engine rebuilt, so do you think i will have an easy time with the bolts?

You shouldn't have any problems if the bolts have only been in there for 2 weeks.
