- 96 Ford Explorer XLT
Hi guys, I just picked up a 96 explorer xlt to clean up and give to my grandmother. I whave made goo progress until I stating tracking down the window issue which led me here. I read some threads on the power window fix, and discovered it was in fact the blue/blk wire that was broken. So I ran a jumper around it and got windows to work once. So I cut the wire inside the door panel to try and splice into it. once I finished, the window wouldn't work, but neither would the power locks, which were working prior to all this. By this time I went to crank it up for a min and it wouldn't start! when I turn key on, the chime goes as normal a few times then I get a single tone (different from the normal chime when key is on) and then quiet! if I try crank it it just turns over and over and wont fire up. Could I have shorted out something? maybe the anti theft, or a fuel relay? Im at a loss, any advice will be appreciated
