This is my first post on this on this board so if it is in the wrong section I do apoligize. I just bought my Explorer yesterday and I need a factory radio/cass with cd changer controls for a 1995. I believe this is called the luxury stereo. If anyone can help or even point me in the right direction please do. TIA

Actually your best bet is to get an aftermarket HeadUnit with changer controls. The factory stuff is never up to par, and you'll end up paying the same price, so why not get something you'll enjoy more. If you have any questions about what HU to look for feel free to ask, everyone has a favorite that they'll tell you all about.

My wife isn't happy with the looks of an aftermarket because the mounting kit would have to take up soo much space because oud fac. hu is huge. I thought maybe someone here may have an extra laying around because they prefered the aftermarket.

Check Ebay, but i gurantee you and your wife will be mush happier with a new HU.

If you mean the aftermarket ones are too small because of being half size, just get a double DIN one. They do make them as big as the stock one.

Thanks I will look for one of the double din.

Easyest way to find a headunit is go to Dead Link Removed their system is set up to use your year/make/model to tell you what will fit, the link there will take you right to the double din, I dont suggest ordering from them though... just to get a idea look at the stuff there, when you go to buy one I suggest going to a Tweeter store or maybe elsewhere, I have used the Tweeter store in Glen burnie and was quite happy to see that their staff has a clue and really seem to know what they are talking about, I also suggest doing the install yourself seeing that its really not that hard to do, if you do need any help just give me a shout and I'll be happy to lend a hand

Welcome to the board, good to see more people from Maryland on here :)

I don't think an aftermarket HU looks bad at all in an Explorer. Anything is better than the POS factory HU.
