Ok so I've been troubleshooting my 1997 XLT it seems that the front end of the truck is falling apart around 137K and im not suprized. I've replaced the drivers side wheel hub, and replaced the inner sway bar bushings that hold it to the frame. Anyway why I'm posting this today is becuase the front end has been making a "clunking" noise when going over bumps and pot holes, from my previous experience It sounds like the sway bar has too much movement and is bashing into the frame whenever I torque it durring daily driving, especially when its in excess of 80 degree's outside. If I replace the outer sway bar bushing should this be resolved? or is this the dreaded sign of new upper and lower balljoints? Also im getting a noise similar to the wheel hub going out but i lifted the truck and did the "wiggle" test and it appears to be solid, could it be from tires that need rotating? I know AWD vehicles have a nasty habit of needing there tires rotated constantly. Anyone who can give me a hand at resolving this I greatly appreciate it! Your help will save my Ex from being driven off a cliff while I sit there laughing declaring my problems are solved!
