I just went four-wheeling in a very easy and beginner off-roading trail. luckily it was near by since I couldn't drive home without going over 25 mph, at 25 the engine would rev but the no whells turning. i have an automatic, and it seems I only have first gear. If anyone can help me out with what is wrong and why and how much it will cost please reply. thanks.

You might have some tranny issues. Let it sit over night and check it in the morning. My friend and I take his old beater 81 ford fairmont futura out and beat the hell out of it some times, the tranny will overheat and we are stuck in first like your truck. The next morning every thing is all good. We have been doing it to this car for years. Hopefully it is not a blown tranny.

haha thanks so much i would love for that to be the reason I guess now i might just keep my mouth shut when the parents get home from their night out

you weren't in low range, were you? and, when offraoding, don't be in overdrive, it's just not good when you need tork

nope i wasn't and i am pretty sure i wasn't in overdrive but latter last night second gear seemed to work and then this morning everything is working just like normal. thanks guys

Glad to here that it is better now, you should still go and get the tranny serviced. Some new fluid might be good for it.

i will be sure to do that mike thanks again
