i'm still needing your help guys i have done everything that i can to fix my problem to no avail, i'm handy but not a rocket scientist! i need some help! please please please!
Hmmmm... the best guess would be to wonder what the hell happened in the driveline drop. Did it damage internal components in the transmission ? (possible/probable). Is it just the DTR or wiring? (I cannot tell from here). There are a couple "fragile" parts in that transmission to sudden jolts, like sprags (one way, or "holding" clutches [a misnomer that are not really clutches but more like what has later been called mechanical diodes.. only allow rotation in ONE direction]). I'm not sure I can accurately diagnose this.
ok well thanks alot glacier i think i will just swap one from the junk yard i thank you. any better tranny i can get that you know of that will either mate right up or install with very little fab up that would have close to the same drive ratio and maybe a little more reliable?
can you post up some pics of the rear end, maybe the soa wasn't done quite right, so the yokes are binding up, that might be why it fell off in the first place.

well i thought of that but it only happened when the hogs head turned up after the welds broke i sweated your truck it looks nice any chance you still have the steering extender?
sweet that would cost me about the same as putting in another 5r55e the only problem would be what kind of rpm's would i likely be running i love my 5 gears in the exploder
You'd have to use an adapter and redo the computer etc. It's not an easy task and not for the faint of heart. Look at the adapter in the stickies above... you have a range of options... but remember this is a computer controlled tranny you are replacing.
dayum forgot about that why cant anything in this world be easy? how about i pay you to come and do your magic? alot easier since you know all the in's and outs of this thing. i've swapped trannys before but never a electric one, any different procedures i need to know how about a write up on here, done a seach but didn't see any it looks like it aint that bad i've got a truck lift and all the tools i could poss. need heck i've even got help being my girls dad he feels pretty bad about all this but it aint his fault accidents happen anyway got any ideas?
I think that you are better off just keeping the 5R55E. Just rebuild it. It is a 5 speed, and the other transmissions are not. You wouldn't have to mess around with wiring harnesses, adapters, hydraulic lines, driveshaft lengths, splines, etc.

thats a laugh i cant even begin to rebuid it { no skill} or pay someone to do it! the only thing i can do is replace with another for 500 from the junk yard, but thank you very much.
