My friend drives a mid-90s V8 Explorer and there is a tube hanging down from under the car. I'm mechanically inclined, but have never worked on an SUV before. Anyway, the tube is black rubber, about 15" or so long, with a white plastic fitting on the end. From the look of it, and from a search I did on this forum, it looks like either a breather or expansion tube for the t-case. It starts at a metal spout that is part of the casting on the t-case.

Anyway, any ideas as to where the hose goes? Is it just mounted up somewhere? I have no clue where to put it!

Thanks in advance.

you are correct!!!!! congrats and now move onto level 2.... put it as high as possibel, you could even extend it to the engine bay if high water crossing is in your friends future

Awesome, thanks for the help. I just didn't know if there was a specific mounting place, but sounds like I can just rig it up somewhere high w/o problems.

Thanks!
