Recently, as of the last winter blast, my explorer started acting strange at higher speeds. Somewhere between 50-60 mph when attempting to accelerate the engine revs, sometimes as high as 4000 rpm the car just lethargically accelerates. I scanned the OBD II and it doesn't throw any transmission codes. I don't think this is the 3-4 flare thing I hear people talk about, it strikes me that it is likely the torque converter but I'm not sure. All of my other vehicles currently and in the past have been manuals so I don't have alot to compare to or experience with working on/diagnosing automatics. Obviously I've driven alot of autos and I know enough to know this is not how they are supposed to work, or the way this one used to work. I've had the car for over a year and this is the first time anything like this has happened. Until now the transmission has been very impressive in my opinion.
If anyone has idea or happens to know exactly whats going on I'd appriciate it. My girlfriend drives the car every day and misses the 4 doors and 4x4 until I get this issue resolved.
Thanks
