I didnt press this to much earlier, but it has become a big problem. On start up most if not all my vacuum lines pop off, producing either steem, or smoke of something burning. Without the vacume lines on i loose pressure and it dies.

I was leaving for a trip today, but with this problem i will not go.

where should I start?

You must be getting pressure inside the intake somehow. Is the CEL on? any codes? Check the induction system for leaks. Are you loosing water or ATF?
Check the oil is there water in it. Might have blown head gasket. Try a compression test.

Vacuum lines only "pop" off when the engine either back fires or when the engine developes enough blowby to produce positive pressure in the crankcase. I think its time to do a compression test to determine the condition of the engine.
