i am going through a lot of things in my x right now making improvements and stuff and i decided i may as well pull my stock cd changer (since i haven't used it for the last four years) and try to sell it, the stock 6 by 9s, and the stock headunit as well. my x is a 1996 xlt and it has the cd changer, but not the premium audio package. my question is- what wiring should i also remove to give to the future buyer of these components? can someone point me in the right direction, i want to make it easy for a perspective buyer to retrofit this stuff into their explorer.

also (and completely unrelated) when i had my cup holders and stuff out i found a green light that is only on when the car is running that seems like it just sits under the cup holders. what is it? it gets really hot after a bit should it concern me? was it originally supposed to light my ash tray?

thanks for the help -drew

Yes the green light is for your ash tray, shouldn't concern you though.

this is an aside and completely off topic, but you led me to it. that green light is now lighting my ash tray which has been dremelled out and now has the in home charger for my cell phone in it. i never used the ash tray function of it anyways, and now i have a place to keep my phone (i never could find a good place to put it in my console) and it charges better because its the in home charger wired to an inverter not the stupid cigarette lighter thing that never stays connected in the position i can't find to keep my phone.
