Please Help, wont start

Just pulled the timing belt cover off to discover that the timing belt is snapped. feel like an idiot.

does anyone have a good step by step for replacing the timing belt

So i've finally got a day off and im about to start trucking on the timing belt replacement. all of the directions that ive compiled say to rotate the engine to TDC. i understand that you have to remove the spark plug to cyl. 1 and turn the crankshaft until you feel compression and insure that the keyware is at 12 o clock. However witht he timing belt already broken; does this change the method of operation since turning the crankshaft will not turn the cam or oil pump sprocket? or can i still just follow all the directions as though i were replacing a timing belt that has not yet snapped
