About a yr and a half ago my Sport was making a terrible grinding/scraping sound from the front passenger tire area. I discovered the bearing assembly to be shot. So I replaced it with a new one and all was well. Nearly 2 weeks ago the driver side began making the same kind of noise. Naturally I bought another assembly for the driver side and replaced it a couple of days ago. As my luck would have it, that horrible sound is still there. I inspected the old bearing assembly and it seems fine. When I was installing the new one I did notice the outer CV boot had a hole in it and had slung a lot of grease out. One question is if the CV joint is shot why does it sound EXACTLY like the hub assembly? Every bad CV joint I've ever heard was a popping/clicking sound. And this definately isn't a popping/clicking sound. Assuming it is the CV joint, how much parts and labor am I looking? Thanks a lot for any help...

C/V should be clicking not grinding, more so on turns. If it is the Joint, your better off swaping the axle (easier and cheaper timewise). After you free it from the steering knuckle, slide it out of the dif. Then reverse.... Shouldn't be more than $100 and the core. On an other note are you sure you put your brakes back together correctly. You might have a sticky caliper.
