Explorer 02 XLT 4x4
ok long story short i was out in alaska the past few months i had a 2002 ford explorer xlt 4x4 v8 sitting in the driveway with a blown engine and a transmission going bad. Family decided to have a wrecker tow it away because it was an eye sore. I didnt plan on getting it fixed up right way i planned on savign up a little bit at of time and preforming my own restoration. If i give someone sort of information like a VIN or tags or something can some tell me what its faith was? and where i could find it. im not looking to steal it back or anything possibly purchase it back. its proabably in a junk yard i just wanna know cause i wanna know so can anyone help????

You could start by asking the company that towed it away as to where it was towed. I am sure they keep records of that sort of thing. And also, some tow company's would probably tow it to an auction or something if it was in decent shape to get some money out of it assuming your family signed the car over to them. They would sell it with a lost title unless your family gave them the title too. You would be better off looking for a different explorer that actually runs and stuff because you'd end up spending more to get the old one going again.

That being said, how much money do you have to burn;)

don't hold your breath, JY, if the Ex is in good enough shape will strip it down in no time, or chop it up, but you might get lucky.

been there with the family, . .lol, my expensive camera lens, $300 new, went for $5 in a garage sale while i was at school. . .

yeah i guess you are right i asked what company took it they said they have no idea they dont remember or any of that. I went back to collage so i cant even fidn my self an ew one right now. I think im just going to look for another explorer.

Aint got no money to burn but i was smart enough to bury my title in keys where no 1 would ever find them. so if im lucky its proabably sitting in a junkyard somewhere in the state. because my buddy wass able to find his expdition after he got into a bad wreck with it but didnt want it scrapped his wife had it towed to a junkyard he let his leg n arm heal up and he found it there sitting in the junkyard 8 months later, bought it back and fixed it up. The thing is that when u have these cars for so long and sometimes up to a certian extend live in them they practically become a part of you
