2004 Ford Explorer Bauer
Hi Everyone. Im new here. I need some help. I have a 2004#ford explorer#eddie bauer. A#problem#just started today for me. When getting into the highway today and following the curve of the on ramp my steering wheel started to shake badly. While driving on the highway it didnt shake at high speeds. But I did hear some type of rubbing noise. Getting off the highway the same thing happened. Driving off the highway in residential no#problem#no#shaking#or anything but while I pulled in my driveway turning the wheel all they way around and back the#shaking#started again. Any ideas? Any type of suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Mine shakes and makes a noise when I turn my wheel left. Got it checked out at Sears auto and they confirmed it's the passenger side wheel bearing. Which is what I originally thought. They quoted me 300 with yr warranty or 400 with the bearing that has a 3 year warranty.

My daughters 04 Focus did this and I went after the wheel bearing. It turned out to actually be a sticking caliper. The brake pad would rub and heat up and then start grabbing and making the steering wheel shake. I disassemble the caliper, cleaned up corrosion, lubed it and problem solved.
