ive just done a full tune-up, replaced the fuel filter, iac, tps, egr, maf, pressure sensor and still my car wants to shut off. in park or drive or in nuetral it idles and just drops slowly and shuts off, as i approach a light or in the driveway or just sitting still. if i dont keep hitting the gas it will shut off. the car runs verry verry strong and shifts great. i was driving an my check engine light came on and said i had a missfire in my 1,6,5 cylinder but that means my car was running on 3 cylinders but i would feel that and it runs perfect if you go 50+ mph but the light turned off. could the problem be a ignition coil or vaccum leak or an injector pluged or a fuel pump? ive spent way to much troubleshooting please help with seggestions, thanks

...Even if your CEL is no longer illuminated, you will have stored codes...These code numbers will help diagnose your problem..;)

code

the guy stated to me the code was just troubleshooting and i got a list of posible conditions causes.

...You came to the right place to decipher your codes...

...Without them, you will just be throwing money at the problem...If you could get the code and bring it back here (it will appear again if he cleared it), you can get some answers..;)

I just went through this with the wife's Ex...rough idle, couldn't keep it running at stop lights/signs, but at speed it ran great. Did you notice if it ran fine when it was cold, but after 20+ minutes of warming up, it would start acting up?

I ask because this stretched out for several weeks with no codes, even after stalling...the computer would never throw a code for several weeks of this. Dealership couldn't find anything wrong with it, until last week when it finally threw a code...one of the O2 sensors had been going bad. I replaced all 4 sensors, and it runs like new. Something about those sensors gradually going bad makes the 4.0 run rough for several weeks before finally throwing a code.
