Hey I was just wondering what other people have done to fix those holes that appear on the bottom of the ex after you take off the running boards. I was thinking to either A)Buy some rubber plugs from NAPA and paint them white or B)Fit little metal tabbs in each hole and weding them shut. Will I have any problems welding the tabs, warping etc etc. After I weld all of the tabs I'll just grind them down and spray paint it. Any advice is greatly appreciated. thanx

I have heard people say that if you use a coin and JB weld from behind, then fill the little hole (depth of metal) with more JB weld then carefully sand and paint, it works very well. But that's just what I heard. This technique has been used by some for shaving the rear hatch I believe.

Its a ghetto way of doing it but it works. Fiberglass the outside afterwards and no one could tell what's behind it. :)

I used plastic automotive fasteners. They push into the holes and I have not had one come out in about 12 months. They are pretty tight, so they do a good job of keeping water out. I also painted them with my touch up paint so that they blend in quite well.

You can find them in the fastener isle at the Lowes. They were in one of the drawers called 'Specialty Fasteners' or something like that.
