Thinking about replacing my 93k mile original rubber swaybar bushings and endlinks, both front and rear, with Energy Suspension poly pieces. My '97 has the smaller swaybars compared to some later years. Should I expect degraded ride quality along with the slightly tighter feel? Anyone done both ends and regret it later?

You will get a stiffer ride, but not that bad. I would suggest getting the black graphite impregnated poly bushings as they don't squeak like the others.
Just my $0.02.

I've done all of mine, along with the EE rear sway bar.
And the Roadmaster Active Suspension kit.
No regrets. I like vehicles that handle well.:D

Definitely go with the poly bushings.

OK, I'm sold. Got black poly bushings/links for both ends on the way to me.

Replaced the OE shocks with Monroe Reflex several years ago. Might go to Bilsteins after I see what the poly does for me. Would love to also do EE swaybars, but my wallet is already crying uncle.

Bit by bit I'm getting my 93k mile '97 Explorer back into tip-top shape.

Recently rebuilt the rear end, new u-joints, ball-joints, control arms, tires, spot-on alignment, fresh fluids, etc., etc.

Still had a little annoying creaky/squeaky/clunky going over bumps or rough surfaces at low speeds. Went with Explorer Express poly bushing kits for the front/rear swaybars + end links and drop links. Squeaks are gone! Rides better with no significant increase in harshness. More precise steering and handling - I should have done this sooner. Thinking about budgeting for some bigger swaybars.

My OTC ball-joint press made VERY easy work of removing the stock rubber bushings from the rear drop links. Literally only 2min per side to get those buggers out. Perfect fit with the opening of the tool.

Two thumbs up on the poly bushings so far. I had a few questions about the installation and EE had all the answers for me via phone - nice folks.

If it's a creaking when entering driveways, small soft bumps, etc... stuff like that... Replace your door strikers and the striker bushings on the hatch. Probably spend $35 for all of them. Quiets it up right away.
