poor gas mileage

I have two explorers, a 96 & 97 with 5.0 eng. One my son has that we has high mileage (16.8). What sensors can we replace to increase mileage?

Welcome to this forum! Don't waste time & money replacing good parts. Do you have any engine codes with a check engine light? A custom tune should help.

I've driven two or three with the same set up you have, and 16 or 17 is the avarage. Least it was for me. Check around the fourm, there are tons of ideas here. I think TM headers are agreed as haveing the best bang for your buck, an air intake or a cat back would be a good idea too, in adtition to a tune. I could be wrong, but I don't think there is a "replace sensor X and instantly get 22 mpg" fix. Good Luck!
