Poor sound proofing in explorers?

Its just me or explorers have poor sound proofing? I seem to hear a lot of road noise going on the freeway and in the city in my 1998 sport.
 






It's not just you. 2nd gens are loud. Be glad you have carpets and such, I didn't in my old Sport.

If it really bothers you, you could pull the carpet out (the seats and center console will need to come out first), dynamat the interior, and put the carpets back in, I guess.
 






I don't find my Ex's to be particularly noisy unless the door weatherstripping is leaking air, which is a pretty common issue because peoples butts tear the rear section and their feet tear the bottom on the weatherstripping while getting in/out.
 






Mine is super noisy on the freeway, but my door is a bit messed up I think because rain leaks in on me, I think it's somehow tilted with the bottom inwards and the top outwards... I dunno how to fix it.
