I replaced the Position switch on my 98 Explorer because it would not start. The strange thing is that when it is cold and/or wet outside it starts like a champ...but when the motor is warm it just won't crank...

I'm lost - are you talking about the Transmission Range/Position Sensor on the driver's side of the transmission? And is your post a question or more like an FYI?

Dug, try to check/replace the crankshaft position sensor.

Did you align it ? It could be right on the cusp of improper alignment.

Yeah what Glacier said: there is a small line on the plastic of sensor that must be lined up with another line when both the steering-column shifter and the transmission are in Neutral (neutral is 2 clicks from all the way back on the gear selector lever). This line should be easy to see on the new sensor since its clean.
