I've been pondering the idea of a run down in Disney Oklahoma, there always seems to be a ton of guys from my area going down there and its only a 3.5 hour drive from KC. Would anyone be interested in making a run there in say March or April. Just throwing this out there as it would be a new place to wheel that not many from this site have done. From some of the pictures I've seen there can be some serious stuff there as well as things a stock truck can do so something for everyone.

Sounds like fun!! Make a weekend of it??? There's frost bite in feburary also.

I just went in October-- It is now my favorite wheeling spot (parkwise) to date. I will diffinately go back-- but April - May may not work for me. My advice is to stay at cherokee campground across the street from the park-- Hogans is ok but if there is an event going on it can be a little crowded. 13$ a night for Cherokee and $10 a night for Hogans. The park itself is free. Hogan's sells maps of the park on a bandana for $5.
It has dirt/mud/rocks/sand/ and a river-- every kind of wheelin to fit everyones tastes. There are hotels and resturaunts near by and even a big SPA if you want to take the wifey. :-)

Hmmm, I'm down if I can get the truck done by then, and it can make it there and back.

Edit: So all the trails are rated 4 an above.... Maybe I should make plans for a trailer.... Something is going to break, badly...

From what I hear, this park is serious hardcore. Not much to do for smaller rigs. For a good time, SAS only type rigs on new-ish 35" or better, locked front & rear, full armor, winched, and trailer brought. Not to burst any bubbles, but this place will eat your lunch for the most part if your not set up for it.

Thats what I have heard also. I'm not worried about breaking stuff, but I am worried about breaking stuff hundreds of miles from home in a rig I have to drive to and from the trails.

Been there done that..... It sucks.....

I've heard that from some people but, then I've also head from friends that were down there this summer riding atv's there were a lot of Jeeps running around on 31's and making it through quite a few trails. The one guy who has actually been there that posted is only running 33's and is now his favorite wheeling spot. Also the trail rating there is way different a level 5 is 32" tires and lockers not anywhere near what were used to seeing for a level rating. I'm pretty sure my truck will end up down there sometime in the spring so if anyone else wants to go its up to you.

Sorry, I didn't mean to try to shoot your trip down by no means. I'm sure there will be some places you could still have fun.

I would still be careful out there, more so than what were used to. Temptations will be great, and the carnage factor will go up...lol

I'm all for going there, I already know my rigs limits. Heck just to get out of town and hang out with you guys is fun enough for me.

I get where your coming from, and I'm sure the limits of my rig will come back to bite me when its least expected. Hopefully by then I should be rolling on some new rollie things and be locked front and rear, plus the possibility of better gears if the right ranger pops up in the junk yard. Just because there are some insane trails there doesnt mean we have to run those, there are also easy ones and just getting out camping and hanging out with friends is half the fun of the meets.

I saw an open diff ranger with 30's running around out there and talked to him for awhile He had a blast! there is allot to do out there with 31's-- And there will be some you can't do-- and a couple you can't beleive ANYONE can do. (Viagra) There where some trails none of our group could do, and some we did several times. A couple I didn't do because I have allot of glass on top and I was with mostly soft top jeeps. (one stock rubi - no lift and street tires.)

The nice thing about going with a group is if you do break dowm miles from home you have a support group!

Some of the younger guys think wheelin is about peter measuring--- I know how long mine is :-) It's the socialising, and fun- that's what it is all about.

Yeah, I was in the green 2nd gen sport. Hopefully I will have my Ranger done by the spring for this run though. Full width sas on 35s, 351w, c6 and np205. So that should be a little morecapable than the X.

I personaaly can't wait to go AGAIN! Loved it! wheeled it! and added another place to my list of evergrowing wheeling spots. Elssar I wheeled with you at Frostbite last year-- you would do fine with your ex-- and even better if you get the ranger done. :-)

So lets set a date for this thing and get-r-done!

Well how about we pick a month first then go from there, originally I said March or April but that might still be a little chilly, does May seem like it would be better, the only thing wrong with May would be when my finals are.

Make it when ever & I will try my best to be there. Early June sounds great. I know I have things going on in, March, April, May, but Will still have a couple weekends of each month open.

Same here. As long as I can get enough notice I should have no problem getting a weekend off.

How does the last weekend in May sound, the 20th-22nd.
