The engine in my 92 Sport has been trying to keep running or something after I turn it off. The problem goes on for a good 30 secs to a minute. Why is this?

Engine diesels (continues to run) after switching off

1 Idle speed too high.

2 Idle system malfunction.

3 Ignition timing incorrectly adjusted.

4 Thermo-controlled air cleaner heat valve not operating properly.

5 Excessive engine operating temperature. Probable causes of this are malfunctioning thermostat, clogged radiator, faulty water pump.

Well, I've used the same gas from HEB for the past year. It is the reg unleaded though. By the way, how is your True Rev? Does it really make a difference? I'm thinking of getting one if I can get this problem fixed.

Power gain. im not so sure about, gas milage went up alittle, but the sound you get out of your engine compartment is worth the Hundred bucks!!!!+
Like a total new beast!!!

Having any other probs? This thing needs gas to have afterrun ..... could be drooling injector(s) or faulty fuel pressure regulator.

Ford has a recall on FPRs right now, though I can't remember which vehicles are affected.

Should I just try and run out this tank of gas and see what happens with the next tank? Would change of weather have anything to do with this?

When you are almost out of gas, put in some premium and see if that doesn't fix it.

Good luck....

I bet I'm the only one out of all of you who uses reg unleaded. What kind of difference does it make to use a higher grade? Can you tell from being behind the wheel?

lol ...Yeah when your X runs like crap, use better gas...
But i generally use regular as well, recently i have been having some running probs so i have been using 93, i will soon go back though cause problems seemed to be solved. Sometimes you just get a bad tank, even if it is from the same place you always use, SH$# happens.

this is off topic and sorry to bother you guys so much but does anyone know anything about backspacing?
