2007 Sport Trac Limited
I've read some other threads on this, and despite the added expense, I'd really like to add the SYNC system to the new to me Sport Trac. It's the only thing about the vehicle I wish were different. It has all the other options except 4 wheel drive.

I had a 2003 Sport Trac XLT that died at 423,895 miles when a co-worker wrecked it. I LOVED my Sport Trac and went looking for the second generation. Based on what I could afford at the time, I found this one which had very low mileage and, other than newer, the same as far as options and trim in appearance as the older one (blue exterior, gray/black interior). I flew from Atlanta to Portland, Oregon to buy it and drove it across the country. Obviously, it's a much nicer ride than the first generation models and I'm in love it as well. Since SYNC wasn't available yet, I have nothing special other than the SiriusXM satellite module. It has the goofy MP3 disc reading radio. Having spent over a month in a Ford Fusion with SYNC prior to purchasing this Sport Trac, I'm hooked and want to find a way to install it.

I'm reasonably mechanically minded and projects don't scare me. What I'm not sure about is the wiring differences and interfaces with other components in the vehicle that might be an issue (like communication with other control modules) on an older model that wasn't designed with SYNC in mind.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
