possible Trans swap in a 99 xls ?

I got a 99 xls 4x4 automatic want to put a 5 spd in it with a cable operated clutch i had a 03 mustang with a cable clutch and it was sweet but my trans in my truck is crap and i want to put a stick in it
so if anyone has ideas or part numbers trans ideas etc let me know
also if anyone had rough idea what i would spend to do it and time frame it would take im fairly mechanically inclined on a budget and its my DD

The easiest 5 speed swap would be an m50d that came in these trucks but is is hydraulic and you want a cable clutch, I did that swap took me a weekend and about 700 total, and I sold my auto tranny for 220 so around 500 bucks. It is by far the best mod I hated my auto also I would go for it.

Would you happen to have a write up on how to swap hydraulic to cable and a pedal assembly that would fit ? also anything else to get rid of that crappy black plastic gas pedal
