2008 Explorer XLT
hey guys. I finally got my 2008 XLT V6 back together after a front end collision. I had to replace the transmission cooler and the radiator along with body panels. My question is my transmission is sluggish. I am not currently driving it because I have an appointment on Tuesday to have Ford service the transmission fluid since I lost a good amount I think between the accident and changing the 2 components. Could the low fluid be the culprit for the sluggish gear shifts? It seems kind of obvious due to the fluid loss.

At any point the battery was disconnected, any learned adaption in the computer is lost, it will take a little time for the computer to re-learn and bring it back to normal, it says this right in the service manual.

The fluid level is critical to proper operation. I’d take it to a quality independent shop, and not the dealer for transmission issues.

Really no transmission shops to take it to here. I just need the fluid topped off. I’m sure the service center can handle that?

There’s no transmission shops in Jackson Florida? I highly doubt that. Just a fluid top off will be fine, but I wouldn’t let them diagnose or fix an issue.

Not currently in the Jacksonville area but thanks for the feedback
