power chips and new exhaust

With 121,000 miles on my '94 XLT, am I putting additional stress on the engine with a power chip, filter, and after market exhaust? I've heard the results will be added power and increased fuel economy. True?

Yes and No. If you start running the truck harder, the extra power could cause more strain on it, but if you take it pretty easy, the exhaust should help the engine breath easier, which in turn lessens the strain. I doubt just a chip and exhaust will cause you any problems.
