I have a 98 XLT that I purchased a few months back that seems to have something strange going on w/ the Power Door Lock System...

The drivers door unlock button will only unlock all the doors if the drivers door is closed.

If the drivers door is open the unlock button doesn't do anything.

It does have keyless entry (remote and # pad) as well as the factory alarm. Since I'm not real familiar with the operations of these systems it might be something simple that I'm overlooking - any ideas?

I tried enabling and disabling the auto door locking - same problem exist either way. I can get all the doors to unlock using the keypad code then 3, as well as using the key R-L-R. Help!

Sounds like some sort of safety feature. I don't think mine works while I have the key in the ignition either.
