Power liftgate not always working

Hello, My the power liftgate on my 2013 Explorer isn't working properly. It starts to open, but then sort of "stalls" part way. I get the chime, and I can force it to open manually, but the power lift only works sporadically. It seems worse when it's cold. Any thoughts?

Welcome to the Forum.
It could be that the motor is beginning to fail. If you open it manually do you feel any kind of obstruction? If you get chimes when opening that is not normal. Chimes should only sound when it begins to close. Perhaps that is what it is trying to do? Have you checked that the lift height setting hasn't been triggered for some reason?
